Oranges in spring
Under the influence of the new epidemic, winter jasper flower markets in Guangdong province were canceled and reduced, and 450,000 POTS of annual oranges in Xinzhou Village, Panyu District, Guangzhou were largely unsalable. Facing the dilemma, Liang Mankun of Xinzhou Villagers’ Committee and the village officials have been trying to find a solution.
“Hope caught us when we were almost out of hope.” Ahead of the 2021 lunar calendar, Liang Mankun cheerfully told reporters, “Your last report on the sales difficulties of Xinzhou Village’s annual oranges has attracted a lot of attention. Later, the government and media launched a recruitment campaign to promote the precise docking of production and marketing, which opened up new sales for us with our heart and love.” As of today, Xinzhou village flower farmers with the help of all sectors of society, unsalable 450,000 POTS of annual orange has been sold out.
“Have a good year” is no longer a slogan or a wish. Liang Mankun and the village officials’ efforts to help the flower farmers from worry to happiness all speak of their sense of responsibility for the construction of the new countryside, and this sense of responsibility must run through the past and present of Xinzhou Village, and the flowers will blossom in the future.
